Kentmere Pan100 is a great starter-film at low speed for people trying 35mm film photography for the first time. Similar to it's 400-speed sibling, Kentmere 100 is characterised by soft backing that allows for easy scanning as the negatives lie flat, and the resulting images will have medium contrast and fine grain.

Also available in 24 exposures.

Kentmere was a small black-and-white film manufacturer based in the Lake District for many years. It was acquired by Ilford's parent company in 2007, who consolidated production in their Mobberly plant. The brand exists as a more-affordable alternative to Ilford, with the same quality and consistency of production but with savings made in the emulsion chemicals.

For more information about the brand check out our bio of Kentmere

Pleasant results with different cameras

I have tried Kentmere 100 in a Zenit TTL and an Olympus mju-II Zoom 80. The films were developed in Ilfosol 3. The results were pleasing and I will be using this one again, especially at this price point.

Excellent starter film

As a good entry level film, this one has provided me with versatility to be able to take many great shots outdoors on a sunny day! Would definitely buy again.

great budget alternative to Ilford

has a versatile dynamic range so can be pushed or pulled a lot, at that price there's plenty of room for experimenting.

Great Choice For Street Photography

With Spring 2022 making its presence felt here in the North of England, Kentmere 100 is a great choice for street photography. It excells in bright light to give that separation between highlights and shadows but also gives balanced tones when you are shooting in the shaded areas too. It's cheap too. Hurrah!
