Lomography has been at the forefront of the analogue revolution for decades. Starting in 1992 with some Viennese students falling in love with the aesthetic of a particular Soviet camera (the iconic LC-A) - they founded a movement and a company that would introduce a new generation to the joys of plastic cameras and experimental film. Periodically innovating new cameras for existing formats - and sometimes bringing back formats specially for their cameras! - they are vibrant and creative

one of my recent favourites

if its used in the correct environment it looks really nice, has a gritty look and lots of bluey/green tones.
out of all the effect films this is one of my favourite

Lovely in the right conditions

Metropolis is definitely a “vibey” film. It’s grainy, cool, and with an interesting pop of yellow colours. It’s not versatile, I wouldn’t go shooting flowers or neons with it - but if you think of it as a kind of black and white with a hint of colour you can get some really lovely results. Definitely a winner for street, but I wouldn’t use it for just any situation.

Cold wintery colours and high contrast. Quite moody but can be a little gloomy and drab

Grungy and desaturated goodness

Personally I’m not a fan…but I can see how this could fare well if a grungey aesthetic is needed.
My partner took a roll to a festival and I think it suited that sort of occasion really well. It’s somewhat dynamic, but it’s not got a lot of colour to it (intentionally) so it’s not something I’d use unless I absolutely wanted that desaturated/high contrast look!

Colour done differently

For something a bit different you can't go wrong with Metropolis. It offers an step backed feel that doesn't look quite like anything else. A firm favourite of mine, especially when shooting in subdued lighting.
