I was really looking forward to trying this one out, after enjoying working with the other members of the Lomochrome stable. Sunkissed '92 evokes the era of Grunge and Britpop with its quirky retro colour palette. Portra this is not, and that's all to the good. We already have Portra, and it's does what it does brilliantly. Sunkissed '92 does its own thing equally well. Grain is not as fine as more modern films, but that's much less of an issue in 120.
I'm a big fan of Lomography's Lomochrome range so far, but this one didn't do it for me. I was expecting a golden hue to my shots, but they came out quite desaturated. Then again, it definitely has a distinct look to it.
The colours on this film are really warm—tending to brown, and very contrasty. I shot this at box speed but almost all of my shots were overexposed by 2 stops and I felt they were still quite dark. Definitely pick bright days for this. I'd probably shoot this at a lower ISO if I shot this again to reduce contrast slightly. Definitely gives a lomo retro vibe. I've given this 4 stars because it's so contrasty and a bit harder to work with than some films. But perfect if you're looking for these tones (think autumnal weddings...)
