It's back again for 2026, welcome to the Biggest Concurrent UK Film Photowalk of the year!
With multiple locations around the country, our plan is that everyone will be within a reasonable distance from a photowalk that suits them 🤩 You can read about 2025's Big Film Photowalk Competition winner here: Big Film Photowalk 2025 Competition Winner
Organised in partnership with Kodak 🎞️
What you will see with this ticket:
Join photographer and visual storyteller Jumi Popoola for an analogue photography walk through Brixton and Clapham, exploring the people, places and everyday moments that shape South London.
Rather than focusing solely on technique or landmarks, this walk invites participants to slow down, observe closely and use film photography as a tool for storytelling. Together we’ll explore bustling markets, independent businesses, community spaces, architecture and street life, considering what makes a place feel lived-in, connected and meaningful.
Along the route we’ll visit highlights including Electric Avenue, Brixton Market, Brixton Village, Windrush Square and Clapham Common, with opportunities to photograph everything from vibrant street scenes and environmental portraits to quieter details that often go unnoticed.
Participants will also be invited to respond to a simple creative prompt:
“Photograph something that makes this place feel welcoming, familiar or shared.”
Perfect for photographers interested in documentary photography, visual storytelling and connecting more deeply with both their surroundings and fellow film photographers.
This walk is approximately 5km and takes place on public pavements, pedestrian routes and open public spaces. The pace will be relaxed, with regular stops for photography, discussion and rest.
Participants are welcome to bring support workers, signers, mobility aids or anything else that helps them participate comfortably. Please send a email to Jumi via imisibyjumip@gmail.com to let us know.
There will be opportunities to sit and take breaks during the walk, and attendees are welcome to engage in a way that works best for them.
Please note that Brixton Market and some sections of the route can become busy and crowded on weekends, and there is a gradual incline along parts of Brixton Hill. If you have specific access requirements or would like to discuss the route in advance, please get in touch and we’ll do our best to support you.
Crowds & sensory load: Brixton Market can be noisy, busy and visually stimulating.
• Standing time: Some people will find standing for photo discussions more challenging than the walking.
• Brixton Hill incline (alternative route considered): Not steep, but noticeable for people with knee, hip, fatigue or chronic pain conditions.
• Weather exposure: Much of the route is outdoors with limited shelter.
• BSL/signers: will have to be mindful to stop walking when giving instructions and gather people into a semicircle where possible.
• Neurodivergent attendees: The optional creative prompt gives structure to the walk helping attendees get grounded, without forcing interaction. There will also be opportunities to wonder, breakaway to decompress and adapt the walk in a way that’s meaningful and accessible where possible.
Participants are welcome to bring support workers, signers, mobility aids or anything else that helps them participate comfortably. There will be opportunities to sit and take breaks during the walk, and attendees are welcome to engage in a way that works best for them.

**Important notes on the included Film Processing package
The included development and scanning only applies if you hand the roll of film back to your Photowalk leader at the end of the event, for consolidated sending back to our lab. We expect you to have finished one roll of film during the walk, and probably be halfway through the second!
If you haven't finished your first roll of film at the end of the walk - or you want to send in extra rolls of film - then please place a separate processing order through our lab at your earliest convenience.
The development will be: Colour 35mm, Standard Scans, Correct and Rotate editing package. If you wish for different options for your film please talk to the lab after the event and they'll be happy to arrange, and charge for any difference.
You will have the opportunity to order prints from your film after seeing the scans - this service is not included in the development package.
†A Black Colour camera will be provided, though this is dependant on stocks and colours may vary on the day.
Competition
We will run a competition - judged by our partners - for the best film photo taken on the day 🏆 So please bring your creative minds and favourite cameras for a chance to win serious goodies.
