What you will see with this ticket:
Town Centre Photowalk - Architecture, Street & Storytelling
We’ll start at the iconic Northampton Guildhall which is a proper statement building. Think detail shots, framing, and how to handle big, imposing architecture without it feeling flat.
From there, we’ll head up St Giles’ Street which happens to be one of the more characterful parts of town. This is where we start looking at colour, shopfronts, layering, and those easy-to-miss moments that separate a quick snap from something more considered.
We’ll cut through the quieter churchyard of church there, giving you a completely different pace. It’s a good chance to reset, look at light, shadow, and more subtle compositions before stepping back into the chaos. Graves and squirrels to capture perhaps?
Then it’s down Abington Street which is fully pedestrianised and ideal for street photography. Movement, timing, people, reactions… the stuff you can’t control, but can get better at spotting.
We’ll land in the Market Square where everything comes together: architecture, people, unpredictability, before taking time to shoot All Saints Church from the front, working on symmetry, scale, and strong compositions. It's courtyard makes for an interesting place to photograph people too.
From there, we’ll head out towards Beckets Park to slow things right down. The canal, open space, and university surroundings give us a completely different shooting style: more relaxed, more observational.
We’ll finish up at a nearby coffee spot. Cameras down, proper chat, and probably a bit of honest talk about what’s working (and what’s not).
Walk will contain uneven pavements, cobbles and is on a busy Saturday. Dogs welcome! Its outdoors. Plenty of rest spots. Toilets available at the shopping centre midpoint.
Ticket Options:
Due to the success of last year, we have created not one, not two but three options for tickets this year, so that people who don't shoot colour/35mm film - or who want to develop their film at home or with another lab - can still join the Walk and share the love of film together!

**Important notes on the included Film Processing package
The included development and scanning only applies if you hand the roll of film back to your Photowalk leader at the end of the event, for consolidated sending back to our lab. We expect you to have finished one roll of film during the walk, and probably be halfway through the second!
If you haven't finished your first roll of film at the end of the walk - or you want to send in extra rolls of film - then please place a separate processing order through our lab at your earliest convenience.
The development will be: Colour 35mm, Standard Scans, Correct and Rotate editing package. If you wish for different options for your film please talk to the lab after the event and they'll be happy to arrange, and charge for any difference.
You will have the opportunity to order prints from your film after seeing the scans - this service is not included in the development package.
†A Black Colour camera will be provided, though this is dependant on stocks and colours may vary on the day.
Competition
We will run a competition - judged by our partners - for the best film photo taken on the day 🏆 So please bring your creative minds and favourite cameras for a chance to win serious goodies.
