Great all round film with great colours

Great all round film with great colours - great for flash portraits at night and day time shots and landscapes.

Have shot several rolls of ultramax 400 on my Canon Autoboy point and shoot camera throughout the summer

The kentmere 400 film is a great budget stock and reallly versatile especially for those wanting to learn and experiment more. I have had great results at box speed but more recently I am pushing it 1-2 stops to get more contrast in my images.

I pushed my latest roll of film to iso 800 to increase the contrast and i was really pleased with the results.

Flexible and affordable

Great film, easy to use and frequently produces wonderful results if I dont mess up. Good colours and very reliable, always have some in as I find it the colour film I tend to reach for whenever I'm not certain what the conditions are going to be like.

Really great budget film

Really great budget film. Having just gotten started with film photography i didnt want to spend too much on rolls that may turn out to be poorly executed by myself....which after hundreds of photos was a wise choice. Being iso 400 it feels very forgiving and easy to use shooting handheld. Its very flexible and produces some very beautiful results. Having tried more expensive films now I still find myself having a permanent stock of this film in, it lets me feel less worried when i feel like getting more experimental.

Great beginner film with versatile colours

Great beginner film with versatile colours. Colours are more true to life than kodak gold. Used on holiday and works well in different amounts of light.

My Go-To FIlm

Always my go-to film now. Use in my Olympus OM-10 and my Olympus AF-10. Super versatile, used in the height of summer on holiday to great effect, and in dimmer weather too, including with my AF-10's flash.
Colours are gorgeous; considering I am still very much a beginner, I am super pleased with the results I've been getting so far.

The Ubiquitous Film

Lets face it - HP5... you know what you are going to get. This is probably the great allrounder film stock - it will do everything fairly well, it's got a bit of grain, reasonable contrast and it's just... easy. I don't think it's a particular stand out film - but it is great when you just want something predictable, so I have been using it to test out camera bodies and lenses as it removes one of the variables nicely.

Don’t usually use black and white but experimented with a roll for a wedding as a back up and came out better than expected
