Another success with this film. Some loss of shadow detail but practice makes perfect. This sample negative came from a 1930s German Tessar lens, and was shot at about f16 in strong sunlight.

Great for summer where the light is plentiful, this film is good for negatives or slides according to your preference.

Excellent in Rodinal for sharpness in medium format, this film has a very transparent base.

Excellent sharpness, Ordinal is a good developer for the 120 format.

Exceptionally good at ISO 12. Sample image (only a rough scan from under the enlarger) was rated at ISO 12 and developed for 14 minutes in ordinal 1+100.
Users should be aware that this film builds up contrast quickly so very minimal agitation is advised or the highlights will blow out.

Good tonal range for a normally contrasty ISO.

Needle sharpness with a truly classic look, this film is about ghe same speed as films at the turn of the 20th century, so best on sunny days or with a good studio setup. I've tried to capture the negative here but my camera phone is woefully inadequate.

I first experimented with this film using a camera I didn’t really quite have the hang of but I’m going to try not to let that influence this review. Of the pictures I took, the ones that came out well were nice and clear. For the price I am very pleased with the images. As the description states, this film does need A LOT of light to capture good clear images as it has a very low sensitivity. For reference, I had some pictures that I took with a 1/50th of a second shutter speed that still came out dark because they were in shadow. In sunlight this film definitely performs well and I would definitely buy it again.

This film certainly lives up to its claim of sharpness and fine grain. Shown here is an 8x10" enlargement from a 6x9cm negative.

Rollei RPX 25 is a great film with outstanding technical quality. The grain appears to be very fine, although I scanned it on an Epson v550 flatbed which probably didn't do it justice. Great for longer exposures with a tripod and ND filter as with ISO 25 is easier to achieve eg. silky smooth water surface. Could be also used for a daylight portraits with shallower depth of field. But you definitely need to know what you want to achieve with such a low ISO film so if you're just starting out, go for something more sensitive.

I use RPX25, almost exclusively, for my medium format pinhole work as the ultra low sensitivity is perfect for long exposures. The film offers fine grain, great contrast and is easy to work with.

I purchased this film from another supplier in 120 format. After developing every frame came out blotchy. According to Macodirect, the German exporters, it was most likely a fault with the coating of the backing paper. They have agreed to supply replacement film bu as yet have to received anything. Looking online there are other issues with this film to do with poor quality so probably best avoided, although I have used RPX 100 in 35mm format and it has been fine. Think I'll stick with Ilford FP4+ in the future.

I bought this film to try it out. First time using it. Was really impressed by the lovely black tones. Qutie contrsaty, dark in the shadows. I was shooting with small apetures so tripod/cable release is advised. Looking forwrd to try the 400iso next. Recommended.

Strong contrast, great tonal response, processes beautifully in Rollei fine developer and I love the results at f/8. Make sure you've got a tripod. 👍

i bught this film in hope of getting some smooth photos of Liverpool's waterfront architecture. it didn't happen though. when I tried to load it onto dev spool (AP ones and Paterson one) it got stuck. after 40 min. fight i gave up. I pulled film out of light tight bag and ruined it on purpose. I tried to load it in bright light just to see what the heck is wrong? i did it after 7 - 10 attempts. did i mention i developed 135 and 120 for years with those reels? AND THEN something in my head told me - measure it! I did... %^&*^&^%!!!! 59 mils instead of regular 61!!! (thats standard 120/220 width, I checked with Ilford and Kodak). probably it would go with steel reel. don't know. or maybe i just got bad batch, don't know. checked Rollei 80s - 61 mm. so it's not common (?) VERY dissapointed

I bought this film deliberately to use in my new pinhole camera as I wanted very slow shutter speeds. This worked great, and I was very pleased with the grain and the results. Highly recommended. My only issue, which may be how the film was developed (commercially) or may be the film itself, is that it is extremely curly which made it really difficult to scan. Even the fluid scan didn't work too well as the film pulled away from the glass surface.
