Washi W 120 film is the original Washi film, hand coated on Moriki Paper's Tosa Washi (Kozo). With high sensitivity to blue, less to green and no sensitivity to red light, this film gives best results with urban, portrait and still life photography.

Washi W is the first film in high production that is backed with Japanese paper instead of the traditional plastic. This will give your photos an incredible textured look - a signature of visual interest that just cannot be simulated with other means.

Definitely a niche ‘film’

This was a present for my husband who is trying to be more sustainable in his photographic practice. The results are super contrasty and especially effective for architectural/geometric subjects. Not much subtlety to the tonal range. Developing was successful but lesson learned from the first attempt is ‘don’t put the developed roll in a dryer! The resulting undulations add a wabi sabi interest to the final outcome - great if that’s what you’re after, if not find a gentler way to let the negs dry out.
