We can start with a look at the waterfront with its iconic Lifeboat Horse sculpture as the tide goes out, before we wander along the quay towards Tugboat Yard, taking in the sights as we go.

We'll have the sun over our backs doing that, with hopefully all the light we need to show off the scene on lovely Kodak Ultramax.

Unless that rains, obviously. In which case, we'll mainly be doing pictures of what Wells looks like during a mild spell of early-summer precipitation sparked by a low-pressure North Sea weather system.

CHIP TIME - MIND THEM GULLS..

That'll probably be well getting on for lunch by the time we've done all that, so if tums and rumbling it might be time for that much-loved Wells ritual of chips by the harbour.

Two rival outlets nestle side-by-side beside the quay. So will it be French's - or Plattens..?

Just mind the seagulls, which like their chips too. But hold you on there. For while some are stuffed so full of the nation's staple fried potato snack they can barely fly, there's a picture to be had - if they don't have your fingers first.

We can then have a wander up Staithe Street, with its colourful array of independent shops for a nose and a bit of street photography before we finish off back at the starting point to hand in our films.

CAMERAS AND STUFF

The great thing about seaside towns is you can get some great pictures on whatever you've got, so get set to fill your boots whether you're armed with a point-and-shoot or a classy SLR set-up with a lens or three.

And the great thing about shooting Wells is the light's with you all the way shooting the harbour from late morning until the middle of the afternoon, by which time you'll probably have either got bored of me and cleared off or found a pub to hide in.

I wouldn't bother with a tripod, as it can get quite busy around the quayside. Plus on a 400 film, you probably won't need one in any case.

CLOTHES AND STUFF

I suggest you wear strong shoes or boots along with thick socks as we'll be on our toes for quite a bit.

A bottle of water would also be a good idea, along with sun cream just in case that gets out sunny and maybe a hat which will also help to keep the rain off your loaf if that doesn't.

Bring change because not all car parks accept cards and phone signal can be poor up on the Norfolk coast, so you may not be able to pay that way either.
