So versatile!!

This film is fantastic!
It has never let me down no matter what I've asked of it....as long as I do my part, Rollei Retro 400s has always delivered.
My preferred development is 22 mins in Rodinal 1+50 at 21°C.

Nice and contrasty, good value

I ordered a roll of this in 120 as other reviews/info suggested it would offer strong contrast with a little bit of sensitivity into the IR range.
I took it to my local forest where the late afternoon sun was casting some nice areas of light and shadow, to really give it a test.
I developed it in Rodinal using the timings for 1+25 (I was too lazy to dedicate the 20-plus minutes to my usual 1+50) and this probably made the negatives even more contrasty.
Overall I really like the results - where the sun shins into the frame in one image there's almost a halation type effect around the tree-trunks.
Although the images are high in contrast, I found that I could edit this out of the scan to give a more natural result if needed.
I'll probably be trying this one again.

What is there not to like??

I've shot a few rolls of this film over the past year or so, both in 120 and 35mm, and it always delivers the goods.

Great all rounder

I love the way I can put this film in a vintage folding camera and not worry about the results. It delivered for me and I will be using it again.

Excellent

First used this about 15 years ago and it's even better now - my own fault meant I lost the first 8 shots on my C330 by not putting the lens lock on - doh - the four other shots were great though
