I predominantly shoot landscapes so I took 3 rolls of the film with me to the Scottish Borders, and I was impressed as it never let me down.
Though it has a fairly low ISO I was amazed with how flexibly it could be used, and took photos throughout the day and even into dusk to get some sunset shots, without ever diminishing on image quality.
Overall the colour reproduction was about as good as I can pull out of my 1957 agfa rangefinder so I would definitely reccomend and will be shooting with this film again very soon.
Slowly adapting to a recently bought TLR and rediscovering film photography I took a punt on a couple of rolls of Gold 200. Used over the Christmas period in Slovakia for some landscape and portrait stuff. When I got the film developed from AW I was so happy with the results. The tonal range is just beautiful. It worked so well in the winter sunlight. I'll be hard pushed not to just stick with this in future, as it rendered scenes exactly as I hoped. Somehow there's a romanticism and calmness in the colours.

Kodak Gold 120
Used a roll of this with my Diana F+ medium format camera.
I absolutely loved the tone and quality of this film. Pictures have a beautiful warm colour to them. I mainly shot on clear skied days.
This film is great if you need to test a camera to see if it works, or to save something fun you see while out. It's cheap, reliable, and consistent, with pretty colours too! I personally use this film casually, but if you want professional looking pictures you're better off with Portra 400 or something a little fancier. Some of my pictures are a little experimental.

medium format Kodak Gold - 120 Film
This film is reasonably priced yet delivers high-quality results. I particularly enjoyed using it for double exposures, where its well-defined lines and vibrant color combinations truly shine.
In my experience, Kodak Gold performs best in daylight, especially on sunny days with clear blue skies. It thrives in strong color environments like sunrises, sunsets, and golden hour, as seen in the image below, which was shot on a bright, sunny day. While it can handle overcast conditions, it’s in these rich, dynamic lighting scenarios that it truly comes to life.
If you’re looking for a reliable, beginner-friendly medium format film that delivers stunning colors and romanticized imagery, Kodak Gold is an outstanding choice.
