Buckets of contrast

Yep, a very contrasty film stock. If you're looking for contrast then this is the one for you. Almost no visible grain (which was nice) but I struggled in post processing to tame that contrast and achieve some gentler tonality. Not the film for my style of shooting, but I can see why others might love the added punch it provides (and lack of grain).
Kodak Retina 1a, FX-39 Dev 6.5 mins.

One for the brighter days

I shot my first ever roll of this film over the weekend, and I developed it in HC110 dilution H for 15 mins at 20°c. The results were variable, with only those shots taken in brighter light being truly successful.
The detail the film captured was really impressive, so I probably will shoot more of this film in the future, but I'll definitely save it for the brighter days.

Really good budget B&W film.

I bought a couple of rolls of this film and I wish I had bought more whilst it was available.
I ran it through my Olympus XA1, the most basic of the XA range and was really impressed by the results. Contrasty, and sharp. The XA1 only shoots at 100 or 400 ISO, and I shot on a somewhat overcast and stormy day, but still got some wonderfully atmospheric landscape pictures.

Rollei 80s

I find this film very versatile, nice fine grain when developed in ID11(stk) or in FX39. For street photography I tend to use it at box speed and process in either ID 11 or Microphen (Stk) 2nd and 3rd pics were shot at box speed and processed in ID11. The first pic was shot at 50 asa and processed in FX39. The other thing I really like about this film is the extended red sensitivity into the Infra -red spectrum. Have tried this once or twice but the exposures are quite long but do produce an intresting image

Rollei Retro 80S with Rollei 35 SE camera

I used it during my recent trip to Porto. It is an excellent film for street photography which delivers sharp and contrasty pictures. The scanning requires very little of processing intervension. Overall all it is a very satisfactory film delivering pleasing photographs. I highly recommend it and I will certainly use it during my future trips.
