My favourite colour film

I think 50D is massively underrated, possibly because of its low ISO. But if you've got enough light available, I'd definitely recommend shooting a roll. The colours, clarity and contrast are lovely, and I am yet to find a colour film which pleases me like 50D does.

A lovely fine film

Great film, with lovely clarity and fine grain. Requires a steady hand, tripod or lots of light to shoot with, but red bloomy highlights look awesome!

Cinestill 50D

I shoot mostly on medium format cameras and this photo was taken on my Mamiya 6. The Cinestill 50D is a nice looking film with lovely vivid colours and I find it good for portraits.

I could really get to like this film. I love the way it renders light and texture so smoothly. I generally prefer a bit more saturation in a colour film but the muted tones are really beautiful. It was more tolerant than I expected it to be and quite forgiving of my dubious exposure choices.
I’d like to experiment more with this and discover how to get the best out of it.
The only downside is the price.

Bit pricey but I'll give it another go

Feels a little cool on landscape shots and responds well to good bright days - not so well on overcast days for me as I found it got quite flat. Also seems to respond nicely to warm light toward the golden hours.
Will definitely give it another go and use more selectively.
