First Time Shooting Colour, Boy Am I Impressed

This was my first venture into colour photography, I purposely bought a more expensive film for my first venture into colour and I have got to admit I was blown away by the rich warm colours, next to no grain but as with all films light is the key.
I was really impressed with all the shots from this roll, it is perfect for shooting on a sunny day at the beach.
Paired with my Bronica ETRSi it is a match made in heaven and I couldn't resist purchasing some more (just don't tell my better half), its now waiting in my fridge.

Well worth the money

I love this film. The colours are so rich and warm, and it looks especially good in medium format. Does best on a sunny day. Expensive, but worth the cost!

Kodak's best for bright scenes

Lovely colour reproduction. I'm always thrilled with the look from this film when shot on a sunny day. It does cost a little bit more, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Amazing colours and clarity

In bright sunshine this film is excellent with strong saturated colours and a very fine grain. Probably wouldn't do so well in low light conditions though.

Great detail, crisp film

I will say photos came out a tad too warm for scenes that are predominately bright, such as snow, but under more conventional situations I'm sure they will come out looking lovely. The detail, sharpness and grain of this film is very good. I'd use it again for some more serious landscape photo attempts.

Beautiful film stock. Underrated in my opinion.

This was the first time using Ektar in 120, and it's beautiful. I was really impressed with the results, and for landscapes, I will absolutely shoot this again!

Ektar is my go to film! Highly recommended.

Ektar is one of my most favourite film stocks, it never disappoints. Grain is minimal, detail is exceptional.

Gorgeous colours!

After reading multiple reviews on this film I decided to give it a go myself. All I read pointed me to be careful with avoiding high contrast scenes so I kept that in mind when shooting and the results didn't disappoint! Beautiful colours and extreme detail all around.
Can't wait to shoot more of this film!

Good natural colours

Just started using this film from Kodak. Almost all my film work is black and white, but I am trying the odd bit of colour work at the moment - landscapes, flowers etc. I find that Ektar produces very pleasing, natural colours. So far I have found that you need to get the exposure right and it doesn't seem to like being underexposed. Unlike my black and white work, I send these off to the lab, then scan and digitally process myself.

Richly rewarding

This was my first time trying Ektar and it's certainly made me want some more. I took both digital and film at this location, on a winter's afternoon, and the colour from Ektar was distinctly richer, especially for the reds. A number of my friends shooting digital-only that day commented on this too, sounding similarly blown away by what this can deliver. Even in some dramatic lighting at times, I didn't seem to run out of dynamic range, and it's got all the detail I could want. A special film for special places, perhaps, but isn't that what medium format is all about?

Beautiful colour rendition and dynamic range in 120 format

Perfect for Autumn/early Winter colours with rich, warm reds and browns that resolve beautifully with enough light. Wonderful at golden hour out in nature/in dramatic landscapes. Great price at Analogue Wonderland too. This remains a fixture for me alongside Tri-X for monochrome scenes.

Better for Landscapes

Excellent film with wonderful colour tones and of course sharp as a pin. Better for landscapes and nature than for portraits but if handled correctly then you can still get acceptable results in portraiture.

Perfect for autumn scenes

I'd never shot Ektar before, but ended up taking a a roll with me to Sweden where I was hoping to capture some autumnal colour. It turned out to be the perfect choice with lovely warm saturated colours and low grain.
My only complaint is the slow speed, meaning I had to use a tripod (I tried a couple of shots hand-held and they suffered camera shake, it'll teach me to be lazy!)

Nice colours and detail when you get it right

Mixed results but probably down to using a 70 year Microcord TLR and mixed conditions. Fantastic bright colours and detail when shot carefully but in poor light and whenever I was shot it carelessly the images had muted colours and lots of glare

lovely saturation

My first time using Ektar 100, shot it in a 6x9 Voigtlander folding camera and the results are gorgeous. Skin tones lean slightly more magenta, but nothing you can’t correct.
