Evocative and Soviet

This was my first experience with a Soviet / Russian film, previously having used various Ilford films when shooting b/w, and I was not disappointed. There's a definite harshness that comes across - especially when compared to the greater span of greys in Ilford films - this, for me at least, gives a real evocation. Some of my photos came out slightly under-exposed when shot at 200 but this could well be my lack of experience coming though (I've only been shooting film for a little over year). The only (very) minor gripe I have is the film doesn't come in a carboard box so I had nothing to slip into the slot on my camera. Regardless of this, I will definitely shoot this and other Russian style films again!

Quite beautiful

Truly a pretty film stock. Provides everything that Ilford films do, and them some. Old russian film was used by my family. In fact, it was the only thing they had. So it was interesting for me to shoot it.

Nice packaging

I received this film less than 3 months ago and it is still in my fridge waiting to be used. However, Paul and Mary keep asking me for reviews, so here is a review. The film was delivered quickly and efficiently in a very nice AW box. The packaging is nice and yet reminiscent of a Soviet film. Given the current political situation I am not enthusiastic to use it. Nevertheless, I hope to use it one day and then I shall be able to review the film itself.
