possible issue? some kind of light leak?

there seemed to be a kind of light streak across the film, that seems like leakage but I'm not sure if this is an issue with the film or something I did somehow. The issue didn't happen on my other film though. The film itself is fine, I still need to get better at scanning though.

Cheap, but doesn't disappoint

These shots were an experiment. Whilst travelling back from Spain recently, airport security gave me problems hand checking my film. I didn't want to stress again, so next time I took a Domke film protection bag. Being hopeful but cynical at the same time, I used a sacrificial roll of Fomapan Action 400, and placed it through a CT scanner at East Midlands on the way out, and a normal old style x-ray machine coming back. The film NEVER left the Domke bag. Security never even requested I remove the film.
So fast forward to now, and you can see the results. PERFECT! Using a lupe I couldn't see any impact. I scanned the negs using the Valoi Easy 35, and NLP in LightRoom. No editing.
Perhaps faster film would not fair so well, but up to 400 ISO at least seems to survive even the dreaded CT scanners. Get a Domke bag!

Fomapan Action 400

Fomapan Action 400 is one of my favourite black and white films, I love it! The sharpness is beautiful, contrast strong, and the grain is very fine.

My only complaint is my most recent roll had a few light leaks, but I consider that an acceptable trade off for the results.

Beautiful luminous greys

I am very pleased with the beautiful, luminous greys this film has produced. It worked very well in the foggy, overcast British winter weather - I think it would be stunning on a truly foggy or misty day.

The Analogue Wonderland team did a fantastic job of developing & scanning my film - as ever - and I would recommend you send this film to them for processing.

I used a Minolta X-300 (purchased in the vintage camera drop) & a Minolta MD Zoom 70-210mm lens for the sample shot.

A good price for a good film-stock. I can't really fault it.

I've read some fairly critical opinions of this emulsion on Reddit etc but personally I thin they're just doing a bad job with it. It's a great B&W film stock. It has an idiosyncratic look to it; but what self respecting film doesn't? It's quite punchy and contrasty but if you're using it with that in mind then its fantastic. Nice and affordable in an increasingly unaffordable space I would recommend anyone try this film, take the time to familiarise yourself with its quirks, get used to how it shoots and how to get the best out of it (as you would with any new stock) and you'll get some superb B&W photos for a great price.

Great budget film with higher contrast

Excellent quality for the price. Worked really well during Storm Amy. Nice grain. Sort of like Kentmere Pan 400 but with a stronger contrast.

I really love the grain

I really loved the way these photos came out with the contrast between the black and white in the film and also the way the grain came out. I loved how well it performed under bright light and how it made the photos look.

Superb B&W film

Relatively easy to keep the grain under control and bring out contrast and detail. Looks good straight out of camera but is also flexible in post-production. I used it to photograph buildings in London but reckon it is good for most B&W shooting. Inexpensive but up there with some of the best B&W emulsions IMO.

Bold but detailed

Loved using this! Nice contrast, behaved well with filters, and gave me some lovely results on a really bright day, when I thought everything would be flattened out.

All Time Favourite

As B&W enthusiast this is my absolute favourite and most versatile film role I buy repeatedly. Great for crispy high contrast or very grainy pictures depending on your settings and light you are shooting in.
