Will Buy Again

This was my first time shooting at night and I had a roll of Candido and one of Mira, Mira definitely came out on top.

Whether it was down to my error, or the film itself, Candido just didn't work for me really, but I really liked some of the results I got with Mira.

Leaving a moderate review - partly due to film and partly due to me

Part of it may be how I used it - night time, on a fast shutter speed with a flash but I found quite a lot of bleed and super contrasty with whites.
Would suggest shooting at night time with lighting such as shop signs rather than lighting them up yourself

Mira 800: Halation, Haze, and a Hint of Teal

If you're looking for a film that offers flattering, accurate skin tones, move on. But if you're after a moody, slightly surreal film-still vibe – think halation, soft contrast, and muted tones – Mira 800 delivers straight out of the camera. It has a cool shift, with a subtle blue-green cast that’s particularly noticeable in shadows and midtones, and wild halation blooms around highlights. It’s a tricky film to expose – the dynamic range isn’t huge, so I’d recommend exposing for the midtones or shadows, though you do risk blowing out the highlights. There’s a softness to the contrast and grain that evokes vintage cinema, especially in mixed lighting. Skin tones may need a bit of correction if you're after naturalism, but for moody night walks, reflections, and atmospheric scenes, Mira 800 offers a distinctive, cinematic look.

Great Candido alternative

With Candido 800 often going out of stock for weeks, this can be a great alternative. Somehow less grainy but with the same strong halation and reds in the highlights. Worth a try if needed.
