AW Improvement and Changes for 2026 💪🏼

6th February 2026: Update

I'm back with a short update on the work we've done since the original post two weeks ago - and what you can expect to see down the line!

1. Film prices. We have sharpened our pricing across the board and **at time of writing** are cheaper than Amazon on all best-selling films! (Kodak, Ilford and Kentmere films) There are still some legal work to do on whether we can ever launch an official 'Amazon Price Guarantee' - but in reality we're already there ✅

2. Lab turnaround times. We are back to 2-3 days turnaround for colour films and the first job adverts for the spring peak have gone live here - if you're interested in working in our lab - at Real Living Wage - then please do apply!

3. Shipping speeds and costs when you need film urgently. A new 'high speed' shipping option is available at checkout that guarantees next day delivery (including Saturdays) and you can buy a brand new 12-month delivery subscription to get the option free for ALL your deliveries!

4. Club AW and Wonderpoints. A big one... we've just tidied up all the perks and benefits and can now offer you exclusive Club pricing of a permanent 5% discount on all Kodak film, developing services, and new cameras! No code required, it will apply automatically at checkout for all Club Members!

5. More community content/events. Lots of work is happening behind the scenes on this - we're not yet ready to share the plans but expect more news on this next week... 🔜

That's all for now - but there is more to come!

Thanks as ever for your ongoing support,
- Paul and the AW team

28th January 2026, Original Post

THANK YOU to everyone who filled out our recent customer survey. We’ve spent the past week reading your kind words about what you love at Analogue Wonderland, and it’s been genuinely good for the soul 😊

However - even more importantly - you also gave us some really clear feedback about what you’d like us to do differently or better.

So today I’d like to share with the whole community the five main topics that you’d like us to improve, and how we plan on making those things better:

1. Film prices. You told us that generally our film prices are good but sometimes you can get films cheaper elsewhere, including on Amazon. This shouldn’t be happening - we have direct relationships with all our suppliers so we should always be competitive vs corporate giants.
→ We’re doing some work on legal wording and system checks to be able to implement an ‘Amazon Price Guarantee’ on all best-selling films and cameras. As soon as we’ve worked through the details then we’ll let you know that it’s live! And you will be able to shop with AW confident in the knowledge you’re getting a fair price on all films at all times.

2. Lab turnaround times. Yes they need to be consistently better - but without any drop in developing quality or service that you rate incredibly highly (Photography News award winner!)
→ We’re starting to recruit our seasonal lab techs for the spring/summer from NOW (rather than March/April last year) so they’re ready and trained for the volume to ramp up. Our goal is to maintain a max 2-3 day turnaround throughout the year.

3. Shipping speeds and costs when you need film urgently. You told us that sometimes you have to turn to Amazon or running around town centres just to be sure of getting emergency rolls before a shoot/holiday. This sounds painful!
→ We’re putting together a special plan so you won’t have to do that in future. Watch this space as we’re hoping to launch it in the next couple of days!

4. Club AW and Wonderpoints. You told us that the loyalty points system is brilliant when you understand it, but can be confusing - particularly at the start - and that Club AW deals are a bit hit-and-miss.
→ We’re going to overhaul the Club AW structure and perks to make them simpler and more meaningful. And you gave us lots of ideas for the new perks so thank you! This will take a week or two but we’ve already begun behind-the-scenes coding work.

5. More community content/events. You told us that our focus doesn’t seem as strong on elevating photographers from the community as it once did. This is definitely one that hurts me to read! But I’m really glad that it’s come up - we can definitely improve this, as it is absolutely core to Analogue Wonderland’s reason for existence.
→ I’m working on our marketing plans to change up where we spend our time and energy. This will take time to come through but expect more events, more articles written by community members, and more fun!

There are countless smaller pieces of feedback that will guide us throughout 2026 and beyond, and we’ll work on those alongside these ‘big 5’.

Over the next 2-3 weeks you will start to see our work coming to life so please do keep an eye on your emails! And I will write another message like this at the end of February to share the progress and what we’ll work on next.

THANK YOU once more for your engagement and love for our little business. It’s truly an honour to work with - and serve - such a positive and supportive community.

Please reply in the comments and let me know if there’s anything important you think I’ve missed in the above!

Happy Shooting,
- Paul and Mary (owners of Analogue Wonderland)

  • In an analogue world, it would make sense to have analogue printing available too…

  • I did the survey and am pleased you have taken on board the feedback and have replied. I look forward to seeing how you address these concerns. I agree with other posts that I too would rather support AW any day than buy from Amazon. Looking forward to my next purchase from you. Best wishes to you all.

  • As a commercial photographer I have to use digital all the time so film photography is relegated to the very occasional fun day out, which all adds up to you never making a lot of money out of me. However AW is my only source for film and processing. A couple of years ago you held a 2 day meeting in Nottingham which I attended on the Saturday. It was an excellent experience and one which I would enjoy repeating somewhere not a million miles from Cheshire. Until such time, keep doing what you’re doing, make a profit from it so that you can keep doing what you’re doing, and thank you for being a business that cares about its customers.

  • Very much want to throw my hat in the ring for the anti-amazon side. Yes I use it every week, being in a remote area where anything takes days (and still does with prime) but when I use other companies, I do not expect them to be on par in price with Amazon, when who can afford to in this economy? It is a shame you have had to do this. After all, pretty much everything on Amazon is made in China. Support independent!

  • Great to hear of feedback being taken on board. However, I couldn’t pass by without commenting on the Amazon situation. Come on people, why use and support Amazon – a tax avoiding business with little in the way of ethics..? To save a small amount of money on a film, which means the UK economy loses out, and so does a small business like Analogue Wonderland, or because you ‘need’ something delivered next day for ‘free’ (no such thing as free, someone is paying).. I realise this is a comment on the larger societal issue of fast consumerism… Either way, I absolutely implore everyone to keep supporting businesses like Analogue Wonderland. And to Analogue Wonderland – I am sorry you are in the position of having to compete with the likes of these giants, please keep doing what you do! Looking forward to some more community based events!

Those of you who spend lots of time online might have noticed a recent uptick in rumours about Kodak. Specifically there is lots of speculation that European supply of your favourite Kodak films is under threat from a big commercial fallout. This is not true
