Kodak Summer Competition 2023: Portra 160

By Paul McKay

Welcome to our Summer '23 Kodak Competition!

The competition is NOW CLOSED to submissions and the entrants have been sent to Kodak for shortlisting.

Please keep an eye on emails and social media for announcement of the winners - expected at the end of September

This year we would love to see your photos taken on Kodak Portra 160 film - one of the world's best colour films for sunny days ☀️

Portra 160 is a professional-grade emulsion with fine grain and exceptional skin tones. It thrives in summer light: capturing the atmosphere of epic landscapes, beautiful people, and all your favourite moments.

The theme is simply 'Summer' and there will be prizes for two Grand Winners - selected by a judge from Kodak Alaris. There will also be an exclusive extra prize for a Club AW member, chosen separately by the AW team.

And to help you stock up for your summer shoots we have deals on all Kodak Portra 160 formats: choose from 35mm, 120 or 4x5 sheet film and save! And when you're ready to develop your film, head over to our processing lab to reveal the magic 🙌🏼

"I shot some promotional images for a friend's single release (@graceychristi) and wanted to shoot it on film, as it really suited her singer/songwriter aesthetic. Some fantastic colours, and the negative scan barely needed any additional processing."

  • I have never actually used this film before, as a beginner I have only really experimented with old expired film so it would be amazing to try the portra!
