An impressive piece of kit!

The camera sits comfortably in the hands (mine anyway…) and feels soundly constructed. The inclusion of a spirit level is most welcome as it’s a panoramic format camera. There are also ‘guide lines’ moulded into the top plate to indicate the likely field of view and a nice bright viewfinder. There are two tripod bushes, one in the camera body and one on the lens (not quite sure why…)
When removing the camera back, be sure to undo BOTH catches at the ends of the camera body, otherwise you could be in for an early failure of the camera back! There are two settings on the ‘red window’ selector - ’12’ and ’16’ The ’12’ position must be used for the supplied 120 film mask. Perhaps Holga planned a 6 x 4.5 film mask but never got round to it - hence the ’16’ setting?
Film loading is straight forward, although be prepared to use a bit of force when inserting the 120 reels. In addition to the 120 film guide already in place, a mask is also supplied to produce a ~ 106mm x 32mm image on 35mm film. Unfortunately, that’s all which is supplied - no spacers for accommodating the 35mm film canisters for the supply and take up ends. Holga part numbers for a kit are given in the manual, but I could find no reference for this on line. Similarly, a part number is quoted for an adapter to allow the use of a shutter release cable, but once again I was unable to find that on line. This is an accessory which I’m particularly interested in and in this instance e**y came to the rescue! A seller called sparrowfabrications (note - all lower case) provides a 3D printed adapter (Item No. 125533418672) suitable for most of the Holga 120 series cameras. I obtained one and am very pleased with it - see the attached images. As you can see, there’s provision for access to the shutter and aperture settings and the lens tripod bush. In addition he’s provided a raised ‘arrowhead’ to indicate the zone focus setting. The adapter fits snugly on to the lens moulding but in doing so partly obstructs the shutter button - unless you’ve got long finger nails! The maker has thought of that and has provided an extension to the shutter button which can be Superglued in place. In fact, it makes access to the shutter button even easier when the adapter is removed!
All in all, a well constructed camera complemented by a very useful accessory!
