Kodak M38 Film Camera

This is my first film camera and it’s so useful to just throw in my bag and go. Be warned that leaving the flash setting on burns through the battery so quickly and sometimes you can accidentally turn it on when carrying it around. You also definitely need the flash for inside shots but super for the price and beginner-friendly qualities.

Was my first time using a film camera and it was easy to set up and use, and the shots turned out great after development!!

I wanted a camera to take on trips and I tested it with a roll of kentmere pan 400, the results was good, it's now my go to camera when I don't want to take my kit, just a quick point and shoot, the build quality is ok for a plastic construction, but the plastic lens and flash gives you some nice soft pictures.

This camera is a really good start if you are wanting to get into general film, to carry around or even for nights out. Its easy to use and quite reliable as far as point and shoots go.

I loved taking a film camera out with me, especially for birthdays or special events as it kept me in the moment and captured people in ways that film just makes extra special. At first, I loved having this compact wee camera out with me. The colour was nice, design simple - however after a few rolls of film in I noticed how annoying it became. The shutter wheel constantly kept needing turned, felt like you were turning it 10x more than you should have! Then you'd eventually here the click and you were ready to go, but by that time the moment may have been lost, so not exactly ideal. I feel like this may just be my camera, based on other reviews but it has now made me think twice about getting a new point and shoot :( It's a shame really good value, looks cute, got great photos and memories - and I enjoyed using it - until the shutter issue began.

Bought this to try out shooting with film before I received my parent's old camera. It's very easy to work and comes with a full instruction manual accessed by QR code. The results are beautiful for such a basic point and shoot. I took it on holiday to Nice and the camera handled the bright sunlight and exposure very well. Definitely recommend as a beginner's camera, or for vintage-looking photos on a tight budget.

The parcel arrived within a week and was packaged very safely and aesthetically pleasing. Customer service was fabulous throughout the whole process. Highly recommend!

Using this camera has been really fun and rewarding for me.

The inherent limitations of a basic camera like this force you to be creative and thoughtful with your shots,

I loaded a roll of Ilford XP2 into the camera (200/400 iso films are recommended due to the fixed exposure) and went out and took some shots around town.

The ease of just being able to 'click, wind, click, wind' mean that you don't have to worry about focussing, exposure controls or zoom, I found this pretty liberating as you avoid the anxiety over autofocus and the extra layer of the unknown that comes with that. The fixed focus does of course mean that the shots aren't super sharp overall, but they are still perfectly nice from my point of view.

This camera can take some really nice shots in the right hands, it's both fun and extremely easy to use and really happy with how a good few of my shots have come out.

Of course sharpness on the edge of the frame is an acquired taste but can add a nice effect to your shots.

To sum up, this camera is a bit of fun, you have to expect a bit of unpredictability, but that in my view is what makes this camera such a pleasure to use.

a fantastic snappy little film camera that's easy to use and produces lovely images. bought this for my daughter, and used it at a recent concert with Kodak UltraMax 400. very pleasing photos with a wonderful timeless aesthetic to them. This is a cracking camera to take on holiday or to a festival, the flash has a decent range on it.

DISCLAIMER: I've not developed any film from this camera... Yet!

Operation is simple enough, I've loaded 2 rolls so far without issue, flash readies itself fairly quickly, unable to comment on battery life yet but battery is only required for flash operation as the rest (loading, frame advance, shutter and rewind) are all manual.

Camera is ultra lightweight compared to "full size" cameras and lives in my jacket pocket - Seems pretty sturdy for a plastic build.

Great camera for beginners

I bought this camera with the intention of carrying it with me at all times, and I must say it does the job. It is super lightweight (because it’s made of plastic) and easy to use. Just put your film on wind it up and take a shot. I would definitely recommend it to beginners to the film camera world like me.

This is a great camera for anyone who is interested in taking film photography, but does not want to constantly buy disposable films. Super easy to carry around and very beginner-friendly.

As reusable cameras go, this is definitely a step or two up from disposables and is good for getting started. The mechanism, flash and lens are nothing to write home about. But that's not what you're paying for here. It's fun and easy and takes out lots of the technical barriers. Just make sure you load the film with tension when advancing it and change the batteries regularly!

I bought this as a gift for my son's girlfriend. She is delighted with it. Why? She prefers its form factor for taking images rather than her phone. It is also light weight, easily fits into her bag and looks great.

Bought the camera as a beginner to try out shooting with film! So easy to use and comes with fully detailed instructions - would highly recommend for anyone starting out with film photography!!
