A fun, experimental point and shoot

I shot a couple rolls of Lomography Film in this camera for an interview with Lomography on how this camera performs in a studio setting. Suffice to say the camera worked wonders. The greatness of this camera is its experimental features (colour flash gels & kaleidoscopic filters)

Such a fun camera!

I’m pretty new to film so this is only my second camera but I really love playing around with the different lenses, and in particular the filters. I used ISO 200 and some of my images came out a little dark, but I like them!

Fun, Retro-Feeling Point and Shoot

This camera got plenty of use at a few parties over the festive season. I got lots of comments about the retro look of the camera and everyone wanted to pick it up and take photos with it. The images that came back from my first roll remind me of house parties from days gone by. I love the creative accessories and double exposure feature, plenty of things to play about with.

Fun camera

Don't expect Leica standard sharp images but with good light and decent film you can get some good results and have fun as well.

A step up in spec. for LOMO...

The APPARAT has more robust feel to it than similar 'point and shoot' cameras. The lens hood definitely gives it the appearance of a more sophisticated camera - perhaps something beginning with 'L'... ;0)
ON THE PLUS SIDE:
Bright, clear viewfinder
Rewind crank feels less likely to break - unlike some other similar cameras.
Film loading is surprisingly easy despite to small single tooth on the take up spool which picks up the film perforations.
Large shutter button - easily located as there's ridge around the button.
Ability to override the flash when you don't want to use it, plus an ND filter to tone it down when using the close-up lens.
Interesting accessories - close up lens, kaleidoscope lens and a 'splitzer. The close and kaleidoscope lens can be stacked together using PVC 'electricians' tape - see the images.
Care is needed when using the splitzer as part of the viewfinder is obscured - the same goes for the combined close up and kaleidoscope combination.
Multiple exposure facility - vital when using the splitzer.
Coloured gels for adding a creative 'something' to flash pictures.
Nice quality metal wrist strap.
Tripod socket.

ON THE MINUS SIDE:
The battery cover is a pain to fit - ditto for the ring which attaches the wrist step to the camera! I gave up and used a larger ring...
Exposure counter digits are all but invisible - but at least there's no plastic lens over them to make it even worse!
No means of using a shutter release cable - although there's a bulb exposure mode and a tripod socket!
