Why We Love It
🎞️ Brilliant Colours, Beautiful Detail Phoenix II has been refined to produce natural, vibrant colours with crisp clarity. Skin tones look gorgeous, greens stay fresh, and reds pop just right - with the halation glow that we all loved from Phoenix 1!
🌤️ Handles Light Like a Pro From golden hour to overcast afternoons, Phoenix II is flexible and forgiving. Its wider dynamic range helps you keep those precious details in both highlights and shadows, even in tricky lighting conditions.
🌀 Smoother Grain, Cleaner Scans With a redesigned grain structure, this film offers cleaner, sharper images and smoother transitions. Ideal for both printing and high-quality lab scans with minimal editing.
🧪 C-41 Friendly Like your favourite colour films, Harman Phoenix II 35mm is processed using the standard C-41 method. So it's easy and fast for our lab to process, and easy to drop off with your usual film batch.
📷 Everyday Versatility Whether you're capturing candid portraits, colourful travel scenes, or the quiet magic of the everyday, this film has your back. It's forgiving on exposure, consistent in results, and bursting with creative potential.

I was excited to take this new film to a music festival I’ve been invited to. It was the first time my little brother was playing on stage at a festival so I took a roll and did the usual 36 snaps. once I’ve got the pictures back from developing and I have to say I’m very disappointed with the colours. It almost seems like there are only three colours in it blue yellow and green every photo whether it was taken in blazing hot sunshine or inside the tent has come out murky I feel like the results are a little bit poor for how much it cost for a roll I bought the collector set and I’m almost begrudging having to use the other four rolls.

Dreadful Film
To be honest I want my money back utter waste of £13. Color shifting, color casts, soft images. Look at my uploads. Harman can I have a refund? ZERO Rating!

I WANT TO BELIEVE!
Firstly, I want to start with my appreciation to HARMAN and their continued promise to improve the world of film photography. Absolute legends and I will always support their work.
Now I also want to clarify that in the past, when Phoenix 1 launched, I was unfortunate in getting a "bad batch roll" that was confirmed and it was sorted out. It caused some strange things to happen, lines, overexposure and discolouration in the negatives.
Now this being the case, I am not sure if I got another bad batch roll because it's another one of the very first batches or I just didn't use the roll on the optimum day. I admit, I was shooting in VERY harsh and sunny light, I probably needed an iso100 film but I still was pleasantly surprised with the results, so much so that I have gone ahead and bought 3 more rolls in a mix of 35mm and 120 medium format.
I urge everyone to try Phoenix 1 and Phoenix 2, give both a go and let me know what you think :)

Wanted to love this film
Did I get a bad roll? Looking at the sample photos it’s possible. I shot more dependable films before and after this one on my trip, and this was the only film I got no useable photos from.
Family photos? I got such vivid halation that my daughter looks radioactive. A photo of my wife looks green. A photo of a beautiful bandstand with pastel colours came out looking orange and muddy. I’m really not sure what to make of it.
