Ilford XP2 Super is a high-speed, fine-grained beauty of a 120 film - and most importantly it can be processed via the normal colour process which is offered as same-day development in many high-street shops!
This is a useful chemical trick from Ilford that has wonderful benefits to the effective exposure latitude of the film
You can expect gorgeous tones, atmospheric results, and a very user-friendly experience.
Ilford was founded in 1879 in the English town of the same name. They are B&W royalty in the photography industry thanks to their 140-year heritage and their support for photographers with chemicals and development as well as film. In the mid-20th Century they produced several well-regarded camera lines (including one given to Princess Elizabeth that was later stolen!) but today they are focused on producing the best films and development processes that they can.

Great film for easy black & white photos!
Having just purchased a Mamiya 645 I was keen to shoot some black and white film but needed to make sure I recieved the results within the return window. Enter XP2! Ordered a couple of rolls from AW and had the results back in a few days.
It's a nice little film stock. I definitely have B&W stocks that I prefer, but I'd happily use this one when I really didn't want to spend the extra on B&W development.
Used it in a camera I had no experience with, so even though most shots were a bit overexposed and mildly out of focus, it produced nice results.

Great film
I like this film a lot. It does well in various lighting situations and can be developed in C41. I even put it through a Franka Solida Jr from 1954 and the results are decent! (The soft/hazy picture)
My Go-To B&W film at 35mm, so had to try at 120 - not too shabby for the age of the camera - 6x9 negs gives 8 images - really pleased with the results.
My go-to film. Despite being 400 ISO the grain is very fine, almost non-existent, so detail is good - some prefer to have grain - I don't. That reminds me, I need to buy some more.....
