Great Standard Film

I bought some Kentmere 200 to test out a couple of new cameras, and as I am finding my feet again in the darkroom I didn't want to spend too much.

This stuff is great! I ran a roll through a really cheap Minolta Hi-Matic G2 and processed it myself. The results were brilliant - the inadequacies of the camera were less of an issue with a characterful film emulsion making the most of the scenes that I shot.

My only gripe was that the developing time was pretty long (10 minutes in Rodinol 1:25) compared to everything else I was working with that day. But that is pretty minor given the lovely results!

I have one roll left from this batch and it will be getting run through something pretty soon! Perhaps testing one of the Soviet Rangefinders that I just "accidentally" bought in the Analogue Wonderland Vintage camera drop!

Kentmere 200

My first trial with this film & I'm impressed.
Good contrast & definition - OK so I was using the Voigtlander color/snapshot Skopar lenses, but still ...
I'll be using a lot more of this film.

I was very pleased with the results using this film. It’s a good all rounder, at a good price. Nice contrast and sharpness.

Lovely film, nice subtle character.

I found it to be best for me at iso160 - 4 mins 30 with Kodak hc110 dilution b. Lovely film and something I’ve been complimenting my HP5 with.

Hard to blow the highlights, easy to develop. I find the hack of anti halation to be its strong point. It just gives a subtle glow, it’s the kind of character that makes shooting analogue worthwhile.
