Harman Phoenix 125 - 35mm Film; We changed the speed, not the attitude!
Step into the world of analogue creativity with HARMAN Phoenix 125, a brand-new ISO 125 colour negative film from the folks that run the Ilford and Kentmere film brands. They heard the feedback for Phoenix 200 and acted on it, crafted entirely from emulsion to cassette at the HARMAN technology factory in Mobberley, the New Harman Phoenix film marks a significant milestone in the realm of analogue photography.
Features and Benefits:
1. Distinct 'Analogue' Look and Feel:
Immerse yourself in the unique charm of true analogue photography with what made Phoenix 200 great. The film captures moments with a distinct aesthetic, delivering an authentic look and feel that sets it apart from conventional colour films.
2. High Contrast and Vibrant Colours:
Elevate your images with high-contrast visuals and punchy, vibrant colours - while ensuring deep saturation you can also lean on the experimental nature of Phoenix 125. This can result in striking images, making it a perfect choice for those seeking a film that goes beyond the ordinary and embraces the unexpected - ideal as a great all-rounder, a studio film or even for street photography on the fly.
3. Versatile ISO Range with Creative Flexibility:
With a DX coded cassette and a box speed of ISO 125 now, Phoenix continues to offer creative flexibility by allowing you to rate it between ISO 100 and 400 but also explore the differences in processing from C41 to E6 and ECN-2. In addition to this, this versatility opens up opportunities for experimentation in various lighting conditions, though optimal performance is achieved in good, consistent light.
Tips for the Best Results:
- Ensure proper exposure by metering for mid tones to retain shadow or highlight detail, as over or underexposure may not be Phoenix’s friend.
- Embrace the unexpected and relish in the quirks of this experimental film, from uniquely coloured negatives to chance encounters with coating anomalies
In every frame, HARMAN Phoenix 125 invites you to break free from expectations and savour the joy of capturing the unpredictable moments that make film photography a truly delightful experience.
Also available in 120/220 Medium format.
The film is freshly made and is a 125 DX-Coded, ISO colour negative film compatible with the normal C41 process and can therefore easily be processed by the WonderLab - but why not experiment in E6 or ECN-2.

About Harman Phoenix 125 Film
We've created a 'Learning Hub' where you will be able to see all the detail about Harman Phoenix - including comparison articles versus other colour films, scanning settings for getting the best from the negatives, and much more. Head here to learn!
In December 2023 Harman announced the launch of HARMAN PHOENIX 200, the first ever colour film made entirely at the Harman factory in Mobberley, UK. Harman were very proud of what they achieved, but were just getting started and so it was launched as a limited edition. Since then, Harman have made new films but the demand for the original Phoenix has continued. They have now tweaked the formulation and adjusted the speed to reflect how you liked to shoot it, whilst also trying to retain the same characteristics that you loved (or hated) about the original.
